Terkis Strengthens European Partnerships at Achema 2025

Our engineering delegation attended Achema 2025 in Frankfurt, renewing contracts with LBH International and Elmac Technologies while evaluating next-generation valve and expansion joint technologies for Thailand's growing petrochemical sector.

A Strategic Mission to Frankfurt

In June 2025, Terkis Co., Ltd. dispatched its senior technical and commercial team to Achema — the world's largest international exhibition congress for the process industries — held in Frankfurt, Germany. The biennial event draws over 145,000 visitors from 100 countries and represents the definitive gathering point for chemical engineering, process technology, and laboratory equipment suppliers.

For Terkis, Achema is not merely an observation trip — it is a core part of our annual supplier relationship cycle. This year, the delegation included our Managing Director, Head of Technical Sales, and two senior application engineers, with a focused agenda covering expansion joints, flame arresters, and advanced valve technologies.

LBH International: Expanding the Joint Portfolio

Our longest-standing European partner, LBH International A/S of Denmark, presented the updated GTX Series expansion joint range designed specifically for gas turbine exhaust applications. The new GTX-900 model features ceramic fibre blanket insulation rated to 1,050°C continuous, making it a strong candidate for combined-cycle power generation projects currently tendered in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) of Thailand.

The existing exclusive distributorship agreement was renewed for a further three years, with an expanded scope to include LBH's new fabric expansion joint line for marine and offshore applications — a growing segment as Thailand develops its offshore gas infrastructure in the Gulf.

Elmac Technologies: Next-Generation Flame Arresters

UK-based Elmac Technologies, manufacturer of deflagration and detonation flame arresters certified to EN ISO 16852 and API 2000, introduced its updated crimped-ribbon element design that reduces pressure drop by 18% while maintaining full ATEX certification. This development is directly relevant to tank venting and process piping systems in Thailand's Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate — a complex housing over 140 petrochemical plants.

Terkis technical engineers completed a half-day product training session with Elmac's engineering team, covering correct selection criteria for end-of-line versus in-line arresters, and updates to the sizing methodology under the revised EN ISO 16852:2024 standard. This knowledge will be directly applied to our technical proposal team beginning Q3 2025.

Looking Ahead: EEC Opportunities

Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor continues to attract major petrochemical investment, with PTT, SCG Chemicals, and IRPC all announcing capacity expansions through 2028. Terkis is positioned to support these projects with a complete fluid-handling equipment portfolio covering valves, pumps, expansion joints, flame arresters, and instrumentation cables — all sourced from certified international manufacturers and backed by our local engineering support team.
