New Flame Arrester Stock Programme: Elmac Technologies Models Now Available ex-Bangkok
Terkis has established a strategic stocking programme for Elmac Technologies' most-specified flame arrester models, enabling same-week delivery for tank vent and in-line arrester applications across Thailand's petrochemical and solvent storage sectors.
Why Lead Time Has Always Been the Problem
Flame arresters are safety-critical devices — classified under ATEX Directive and required by insurance surveyors and regulatory authorities on all flammable liquid storage tanks, process vessels, and pipeline systems handling flammable vapours. Yet historically, procurement in Thailand has been a source of frustration: standard ex-works lead times from European manufacturers run 8 to 14 weeks, which conflicts with the realities of project schedules and emergency replacement requirements. Working with Elmac Technologies, Terkis has established a dedicated stocking programme at our Samut Prakan warehouse covering twelve most-commonly specified models across four product families.
Stocked Product Families
The programme covers four product families: the HLDF Series end-of-line deflagration arresters in DN50 through DN200 (150 lb flanged, marine-grade aluminium and 316 stainless steel); the HLDN Series in-line deflagration arresters in DN50 through DN150; the HLST Series detonation arresters certified for stable and unstable detonation in DN50 and DN80; and the HLCV Series conservation vent and flame arrester combination units for API 650 tank venting.
Certification and Documentation Package
Every unit shipped from the stock programme carries full documentation: EN ISO 16852 test certificate, ATEX certificate of conformity, EN 10204 2.2 material certificate, and an Elmac factory test record. For clients requiring third-party inspection (Bureau Veritas, SGS, TÜV), Terkis can coordinate expedited inspection at our warehouse prior to delivery. Our documentation management system issues full certified document packages digitally within 24 hours of order confirmation.
Technical Selection Support
Flame arrester selection is non-trivial. The key parameters — group classification of the gas mixture, operating temperature and pressure, pipe diameter, maximum experimental safe gap (MESG), and whether the application is end-of-line or bidirectional in-line — must all be correctly identified to ensure the device provides actual protection rather than a false sense of compliance. Terkis provides a no-cost technical selection service for all enquiries, with written selection justification documentation on request. Standard response time is same business day for enquiries received before 15:00 ICT.
